Choosing a shredder
Before buying a shredder, ask yourself do you
know anyone who you can borrow or hire a shredder
from? This may save you money and storage space.
Things to consider when choosing a
shredder:
- What thickness of branches
will it shred?
- How powerful is the motor? A
more powerful motor will have less chance of garden waste jamming
in the machine.
- Is it self feeding? This can
be quicker and easier to use.
- What does your garden waste
consist of? Make sure you buy the right shredder for your
garden.
- How quiet is it? This varies
by make and model.
- How much does it weigh? There
are some good lightweight shredders on the market.
Herefordshire Council and Worcestershire
County Council do not supply garden shredders and give no warranty
as to the availability, suitable or quality of garden shredders
from and supplier.
