Share your New Year Resolutions and start wasting less in
2012!
Everyone is being encouraged to make 2012 the
year they share handy tips, advice and ideas to help reduce
the amount of waste we all produce.
We're hoping that people across
Worcestershire and Herefordshire will make helping the
environment, saving money and producing less waste, their New
Year's Resolution for 2012 - and stick to it over the next 12
months and beyond.
www.letswasteless.com, which is packed full
of useful information on all aspects of waste
prevention, offers easy to follow tips and useful - often
quirky - ideas, including how people can organise 'swap shops'
for unwanted Christmas presents or how items can be traded for
something more useful.
In addition to this, it also includes
real-life case studies of how residents have benefited from waste
reduction, along with all the latest waste prevention news.
Christopher Atkinson, Senior Waste
Prevention Officer said: "When we are out and about
talking to residents we often meet people who have quirky ideas
about how they reduce the amount of waste they put out for
collection each week. We want to gather these ideas and share them
with others through this website."
www.letswasteless.com was set
up by Worcestershire County Council in partnership with
Herefordshire Council, and is specifically put together to help
residents find out more about making their own household waste work
for them.
It covers all aspects of waste prevention, including how to get a
bargain compost bin, information on how to find your nearest reuse
organisation, details on hosting swishing parties, ideas on how to
make your food go further, plus a whole lot more. So why not take a
few minutes and have an explore.
To find out more about waste prevention,
recycling, and reusing, and to share ideas with other
residents, take some time to look around the site today. If you've
got a top piece of advice then simply let us know by
email.
Happy new year!
