Get pedalling with a re-cycled bike
Your old and unwanted bicycles are needed by a
local charity that works with Worcestershire County Council to help
reduce waste and provides employment and training opportunities for
young people at risk of not realising their full potential.
Worcester-based
charity motov8 finds new owners for unwanted bicycles, saving
valuable resources from ending up in landfill. Through the
collection and refurbishment of the bicycles, they also provide
employment and training for young people with the aim of them
gaining employment.
motov8 is always looking for donations of unwanted bicycles and
bicycle parts in order to carry on their work. Bicycles can be
dropped off at their premises in Gregory's Mill St or collections
can be arranged by appointment from anywhere in Herefordshire and
Worcestershire.
motov8 sells refurbished bicycles at bargain prices, with most
costing less than £50. They can also service your bicycle for
a very reasonable price, keeping you peddling for longer.
Viktoria Salisbury, Senior Waste Prevention
Officer, said: "We are pleased to continue working with
motov8 to offer our residents an option for reusing their old
bikes. motov8 can also offer residents an opportunity to purchase a
refurbished bike at a very reasonable price."
Mark Badger, Managing Director of Motov8, said:
"We are delighted by the continued success of our recycle programme
which enables our learners to develop their practical skills whilst
also helping to protect the environment and promote social
enterprise. We look forward to receiving donations which will
enable the continued development of this project."
Call motov8 on 01905 619068 to arrange collection or if you are
looking to buy a bicycle. Spokes in Kidderminster also offer
re-cycled bikes at great prices. Like motov8 they are more than
happy to help. For more details on Spokes read the interview they gave to Let's
