Join the thousands in Worcestershire already with bargain bins! Get composting today

People are being encouraged to join the thousands around Worcestershire and using compostHerefordshire who've already started saving and wasting less.

More than 90,000 people in Worcestershire and Herefordshire have already taken advantage of the authority's subsidised offer for residents.

Now's the perfect time to snap up a bargain bin with prices starting from just £13 (including delivery) on models with an RRP of £39 and, even better, anyone that currently buys two can get the second half price.

To find out more about composting or to purchase a bin visit the composting webpages here at www.letswasteless.com or call 0844 571 4444.

Over one third of the contents of an average UK household bin can be home composted, and garden waste can also be added to a compost bin.

Household waste and garden waste can be combined in your compost bin to make excellent compost. For example, grass cuttings can be mixed with shredded confidential paper work, egg boxes and scrunched up newspaper to produce fantastic results. Fruit and vegetable peelings, coffee grounds, tea bags, egg shells and shredded garden waste can all be added to the compost bin.

Christopher Atkinson, County Council Senior Waste Prevention Officer,  said: "By composting at home you can prevent approximately one third of your waste going to landfill and very little effort is required to make excellent compost.

"Homemade compost will produce great results in your garden, you can use it to top up pots, feed trees and shrubs, or help grow award winning flowers and vegetables. You can even feed your lawn. By composting your garden waste at home you can also save yourself a trip to the Household Recycling Centre too."
