Waste Digesters

You can use a digester to dispose of kitchen waste that cannot be added to a compost bin.  The most common digester is a Green Cone.

Green Cones are sealed units which create rodent proof environments that decompose meat, fish, dairy products and vegetable matter. 

You do not get any compost from a digester but you do get of a rich soil conditioner seepage into the surrounding ground .

Some residents have fed back that digesters work better in porous soil.
